  4. SBTimbre is a Timbre editor -- it facilitates creating and modifying
  5. instrument sounds for FM Sound Cards such as Sound Blaster, Adlib, and 
  6. Media Vision.  Sounds can be auditioned via a Sound Blaster or MPU401 
  7. compatible interface and a MIDI controller (a piano keyboard for instance), 
  8. or by pressing buttons on-screen using a mouse or computer keyboard.

  13.   * Multiple Open IBK Files.
  14.   * Creation of new IBK files.
  15.   * Copying of Timbres between IBK files.
  16.   * Import of .BNK and .CMF file timbres.
  17.   * Editing of Individual Timbres.
  18.   * "Spin" edit controls using a Mouse or +- keys
  19.   * Auditioning of tones in any window.
  20.   * Auto-Generation of Timbres through randomizing.
  21.   * 43/50 Line Screen option (EGA/VGA required).
  22.   * CUA compliant Text Mode Windows.
  23.   * Extensive MIDI implementation.
  24.   * Compatible with the Cakewalk FM Card driver file format (IBK files)

  28. SBTimbre is Shareware: "try before you buy" software -- it is not free.  
  29. If you find SBTimbre useful, you are expected to register it after a 
  30. 30 day trial period.  If you don't find it useful, your only remedy is 
  31. to erase the software from your disk.  The program included in this zip 
  32. file is the same as the registered version -- it is a fully functioning 
  33. program.  When you register the program you will receive the following:

  35.   * the latest version of SBTimbre
  36.   * the latest version of the SBANK file conversion program
  37.     SBANK can convert timbres between .IBK .SBI .BNK and .INS files
  38.   * a bunch of royalty free IBK Bank files
  39.   * the Windows 3.1 FM MIDI Synth driver -- can be used with any 
  40.     Windows MIDI program, and most, if not all, FM Sound cards. It
  41.     allows loading of .IBK bank files, and provides an extensive
  42.     MIDI implementation including System Exclusive, a Control Panel
  43.     applet for run-time configuration, and a programming interface.     
  44.   * a CMF-ROL-MIDI file conversion program -- can convert files in
  45.     any direction.
  46.   * 100's of .CMF files

  50. The cost of registration for Version 3.02 is $39.95, plus $4.95 S&H.
